Hey guess what ya’ll? its my 40th birthday this month.
While there are many more stories I will be telling in this blog, I find myself looking forward to the next 20 – and I’m hoping it includes many trips to Target. Right now, I cannot just leave and go to Target, as I cannot even take a 1% chance of bringing home a virus to my family that includes a little boy with a weak immune system.
Who knew I would be starting 40 in a pandemic?
I’m talking about Target because one birthday, when my daughter was 4, I left the kids with their dad on a Saturday, hopped into the car with a big bonus I received at work, drove to a Target I don’t always go to that has a Starbucks, and I spent ALL of my bonus at Target for my birthday. Shopping for hours, with a Starbucks in my hand (I think I got a refill halfway through) at Target, alone. And that, my friends is the American mom’s dream. It was glorious. It was my favorite adult birthday.
6 years later?
I just want to spend my 40th birthday shopping alone at Target. (I’m not much of a party person, even sans pandemic) But without the anxiety of thinking I would come across a deadly unpredictable virus.
Instead, I am starting a new blog. Pandemic boredom has brought me back to the blogosphere.
Though, I would love to be blogging about a 40th birthday Target haul.
Maybe a 41st?
