Since I have been blogging for over 20 years, I have some old posts I would like to share on Thursdays.
I hope you enjoy it!
Usually, I’m not a complainer. I’m not an internet bully, and I’m not usually the starter of things.
But when it comes to my (husband’s) hard earned money – do NOT mess with me. If you take even a penny from me, I get all mama bear on people, and I’m not afraid to do whatever I can to get it back. That’s food. That’s diapers. That’s mortgage. Give me my damn penny back.
So, when after going to our local muffin place for Blueberry Muffins and coming home with this:
DO YOU SEE ANY BLUEBERRIES IN THERE? Guess where they are?
FIVE little blueberries, strategically placed on the top.
As you can imagine I was mad the first time. The second time, I thought maybe they were having a bad month.
BUT THIS PICTURE WAS TAKEN AFTER THE 3rd TIME!!
So, what did I do? Yep. I broke my “everyone is ten feet tall on the internet” rule and I tweeted it:
“Come on @My_Fav_Muffin! only 5 blueberries in my blueberry muffin?!? REALLY? http://pic.twitter.com/GmIh3f9M”
“@My_Fav_Muffin Here is the inside… http://pic.twitter.com/ToKpDTXn”
I also posted it on their Facebook wall…and when they promptly pulled it, I posted it on my wall and tagged them in it.
Hey, it made me feel a little better – gave my husband a HUGE laugh (he loves my face in the first picture), and I let off some steam.
I Swore off Muffins
I swore we would never buy another muffin from them again…but after a few weeks guess who was asking for his favorite muffins? Yep. So my husband took him to the muffin shop, and decided to talk to the manager about the blueberry-less muffins. He was met with:
“Oh my gosh, was that YOUR WIFE??”
Now, my husband is a major peace keeper so I can imagine his surprise when this was brought up, but, apparently, my tweets made some waves. They hired new management, and during the interview – my tweet was part of the process. When my husband told me this, I was dumbfounded. Now, I have worked with some great brands on some social media campaigns – so I know they pay attention – but I never knew that change could come from one of my tweets.
They asked my husband what my favorite muffin was, and he informed them that it wasn’t on the menu anymore…guess what? They brought it back! And kindly asked for a web redemption…
I deserved a better muffin – and was given one!
It has been over 2 months since the five blueberry incident, and I am happy to say that I have been pleased with the new changes and with our experience buying muffins and bagels from Big Apple Bagels/My Favorite Muffin in Davison, MI ever since.
And Thank You for bringing back the Double Berry Crumble muffin. 😀
